Heather M. McGuire is currently a resident of her hometown, Joliet, IL. She attended DePaul University in Chicago, where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with Honors. Upon graduation in 2006, Heather attended law school at Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she was a member of the Dean’s List. During law school, Heather participated in numerous extra curricular competitions, including Mock Trial and Moot Court. Additionally, Heather was accepted onto NIU’s National Trial Competition team where she represented the College of Law at the regional competition in Chicago. In her third year, Heather was accepted as a research assistant to Professor Jay Naftgzer, an attorney who helped shape ERISA litigation by arguing his case in front of the United States Supreme Court. After graduating law school and passing the bar, Heather was invited to participate in a post-graduate internship with the general counsel of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, IN. During the internship, Heather was primarily engaged in Business Law matters, including contract issues and formation of a not-for-profit medical clinic. Heather joined the McKeown Law Firm in August 2010 and where she practices in the areas of Municipal Law/Prosecution, Business Law and Real Estate Law. She is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association and the Joliet Area Young Professionals. |
