Marie Pappas was born in Joliet, Illinois, and currently resides in Shorewood. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, as well as a Certificate of International Business and a minor in Latin American Studies. She spent her junior year studying at La Universidad Nacional in Heredia, Costa Rica.
After college, Marie began working at the McKeown Law Firm as the legal assistant for the firm’s litigation department. She spent two years in that position and left to attend the Northern Illinois University College of Law in DeKalb, Illinois. Marie also met her husband, Nick, during law school; they were married in August of 2008. At Northern, Marie served as Vice-Dean for the Coke Senate of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and Justinian Society, and also served as a research assistant for two law professors. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, ranked 15th in her class, in the spring of 2007.
Marie continued working at the McKeown Law Firm during law school as a legal intern and joined the Firm as an Associate in September of 2007. She now primarily practices in the area of civil litigation. |
